Hello all you retro crafty people!
My name is Angela (AKA Humblestumble). I've been sewing for about 2 years off and on and I've been trying to teach myself how to sew. I've got a lot more knowledge now than I did when I first started sewing, but I still run into a lot of "small" problems which become huge problems for me because I don't have anyone around to ask "Why do you think this happened?" I've sewn a few dresses, pillows, bath mitt, pants, purses, and so on. Most of the garments don't fit me, but I am teaching myself how to alter and adjust clothes and patterns, or trying anyway.
I'm 19 years old, going to be 20 coming up soon. I am also contemplating joining American Sewing Guild. I started to learn to sew because I wanted to sew my own retro wardrobe since 7th grade. I have graduated high school and still don't have a retro wardrobe of my dreams yet. "Yet" being the key word ;)
I love the 40s-50s, and even some 60s.
I don't know if I'll be able to join you guys for this month's challenege, but I hope to be joining you all eventually. It's so WONDERFUL to discover this group! (via fedoralounge.com) I hadn't known that there was anything like it!
I look forward to reading through your posts and discovering more people who share my passion of retro clothing and sewing.
Nice to meet you
Angela
