September project (kind of) Kitchen cutie

I actually made this during the Summer. I copied this little cutie from a vintage one that I had that was done in blue fabrics. It has a quilted lining and can be used to set hot dishes on, or you can just hang it on the handle of a cabinet door, like I'll be doing. The original was from about the 1930s. I used some vintage fabrics that I had, and a few fabrics that I received from recent swaps. The back is a pale yellow and green plaid that I one used as curtains in the kitchen. The embroidered face in the center is a pale yellow linen that came from the collar of a damaged dress. One fabric was part of a damaged hankie, 2 were scraps cut from the bottom of vintage dresses that I hemmed for my short self. Check out my favorite fabric - the pink pixie! She is from a vintage apron too stained for regular use.
