Behold the bolero! I am immensely pleased with this. Its black and white houndstooth babywhale corduroy lined with a black and white floral silhouette lining. Its the first de novo thing I've made in a while - I've been busy repairing and letting things out, dull but productive stuff. Made from a vintage simplicity pattern (more details of construction and back photo on sewinginthecity.blogspot.com).I intend to make this jacket again out of a deep plum wool I ordered, with a matching straight skirt. I may also baste on a lovely full mink collar I have lying around (to the hypothetical deep plum version, not this one).
