Advance 2710, Early 60s Wrap Dress

I'd been wanting to make this pattern for a long time. Something about the illustration was especially appealing to me. So after trying to decide what to do with some fabric in my very large stash, I matched up a piece of cute chambray with a red and white eyelash, with the early 60s wrap dress.

The pattern envelope says "Sew Easy," and I'm happy to report it was the truth. Even after spending extra time making pattern adjustments, the dress was done in just a few hours. Most of that time was spent gathering and hemming the skirt. I did take out quite a bit of the fullness, but as you can see, there was still a bit of gathering. I like the way it turned out, and the fullness is not so much that I feel swamped in fabric.

I'm pretty short, so the skirt looks to be shorted than the pattern shows. It hits me right at the knee. Just to play a little, I used a bit of Peace Sign fabric to face the collar, and the hem tape was of a like mind. Both are from the early 70s.

I want to thank all of you for the super friendly welcome! Between the posts here and on my blog and the emails, I was overwhelmed! And thanks for checking out my blog.
