Marian Martin Blouse

I recently started a new job and decided I needed some swish new clothes to go with my swish new position (not that swish, but a girl needs a reason to get dressed up for work:-).

Inspired by some lovely talented seamstresses, I went hunting on etsy for a vintage blouse pattern. This is what I found:

Pretty nice, huh? I made a muslin of the blouse first, and this is it made up in a piece of vintage polished cotton I got from ebay:

I made a few minor changes -- taking in the side seams just a tad, using a lace trim on the neck edge of this version instead of a facing, and at my very talented friend Maree's suggestion, altering the 'armholes' to accommodate for the fact that I did not use shoulder pads.

More of the green blouse story, and the muslin version, is over at my blog. Thanks for looking!
