Hi everyone.
I've been following Sew Retro for several months now and have thoroughly enjoyed the projects as well as the great advice you guys give, and I finally decided now was the time to join.
My passion for fashion and the craftmanship involved in creating clothing dates back as long as I can remember. If I like a garment I see in a movie, I can't help but wonder how it was made, what the texture of the fabric feels like and so on. My mother was a seamstress and taught me the basics of sewing. In high school, I attended a sewing course taught by a very inspiring teacher and I've been sewing ever since. My favourite eras are the 1940s and 1950s, not only with regard to fashion, but also when it comes to movies, music and dancing. I use vintage patterns for the most part, but also vintage reproduction patterns and on rare occasions new patterns with vintage flair. The fabric I use is new, but with a vintage appeal.
As I have a lot of projects to do this spring, I hope to be posting again soon :)
