Pattern FAIL: Simplicity 4750
Failure is often a better teacher than success. The lesson I learned from Simplicity 4750 was not to trust patterns blindly. I thought this blouse pattern from 1943, complete with instructions for making it from a man's shirt, was a friend, but I found out to my cost that it was a frenemy.
