An Introduction

Hi everyone, I’m so happy to be a member of Sew Retro.

Sewing would have been a very lonely journey for me if not for the blog world. It is very difficult to find others who are passionate about sewing their own clothes in Singapore where I’m from. On Sew Retro, your creations have not only been a source of encouragement for me but a great source of inspiration.

A little about myself. My name is Adey and I blog over at The Sew Convert. I started sewing little girl dresses in December 2008 just before my princess was born. Recently, I was inspired to sew clothes for myself. I love the vintage look and usually sew outfits from vintage patterns or are retro inspired. These are some of the retro inspired dresses I’ve made for my princess and myself.

Ribbon Dress
Reversible Dress

Scallop Hem Mini Dress

The last photo shows my first dress from a vintage pattern. Simplicity 5850. I did the v-neck version but shorten the sleeves and hem. More info and photos on my blog.

Here's a picture of the pattern used.

I am so glad to join Sew Retro and hope to get to know more people who love sewing and vintage patterns.

Have a blessed day!
