My name is Rebecca, and I am a self-taught seamstress. I’ve been sewing little things since I was about seven, when my grandma taught me how to make a potholder. I started reconstructing and designing my own clothing about five years ago, and I enjoy learning new things to improve my skills. So, I look forward to gleaning all of the sewing knowledge and wisdom from everyone here, and hopefully I can offer something useful along the way too.
I enjoy reconstructing vintage items and creating unique clothing using vintage patterns and vintage materials. I also sew clothing of my own design, and typically these have a retro vibe as well. I sell some of my designs and reconstructions on Etsy, but many of the projects I blog about are pieces I create for myself.
I write about the hodgepodge of sewing projects that occupy my time, and random anecdotes from my life, here: Verity Clothing.
Here’s a pic of one of my recent creations from a vintage pattern, blogged about here: Grey Gardens Dress.
And here’s a picture of my most recent reconstruction: Dress from a Jacket.
I look forward to reading about all of your projects, and hope you enjoy reading about mine as well.
