I just wanted to promote my first book,
Chicago's Fashion History, 1865-1945, published by Arcadia in July. It's chockful of vintage photos. If you love sewing, knitting and hat-making, this book is for you. I've got some great Library of Congress 1940s images of hat shops from the city's south side. My favorite are some catalog pages from a long-gone department store....something I bought in San Francisco. While I'm at it, I'm going to plug
