A little Retro Fashion Promotion

I just wanted to promote my first book, Chicago's Fashion History, 1865-1945, published by Arcadia in July. It's chockful of vintage photos. If you love sewing, knitting and hat-making, this book is for you. I've got some great Library of Congress 1940s images of hat shops from the city's south side. My favorite are some catalog pages from a long-gone department store....something I bought in San Francisco. While I'm at it, I'm going to plug  ✄ Fabric U ✄, an iPhone app, which I'm updating with hyperlinks and video. If you love yarn and knitting and own an iPhone, I will be 'giving birth' to another app,  ✄ Yarn U ✄, sometime in November.  I can't say I've been sewing a whole lot (but now that I have a disintegrated 2-month-old RTW bathing suit, I just might hit the feed dogs soon), but I'm knitting up a retro storm using patterns from A Stitch in Time, a compilation of British patterns from the 1920s-late 1940s.
