Vintage Pattern Lending Library

I thought this site would be of interest to all of us, I hope you find it interesting!

*************************************************

The mission of the Vintage Pattern Lending Library (www.vpll.org) is to place back into public domain rare, antique and vintage patterns dating from 1863 through the early 1950s. The catalog of patterns (at https://vpll.3dcartstores.com/) features several hundred replicated patterns from a wide range of eras. Each pattern, along with whatever original instructions were present, has been digitally remastered and printed for ease of use for the modern sewer. While the pattern information has been updated, the pieces have not been altered in order to preserve their historical accuracy. Pattern are printed full size, on a 18 lb, semi-transparent vellum.

By becoming a paid Library Member (https://vpll.3dcartstores.com/LIBRARY-MEMBERSHIP_p_132.html) there is an option to borrow patterns, as well as a discount for purchases. The Library also sponsors a blog on vintage fashions at http://vpll.wordpress.com/

The website features only a small fraction of the available patterns from the Library's archives, which contains over 6,000 commercial patterns, along with many other fashion related publications. You can keep updated on new releases via the Library's monthly newsletter, by signing up at the bottom of the pattern catalog page.

Collectors of vintage patterns are encouraged to contact the Library to discuss the possibility of having their patterns replicated in order to preserve them for the future.
