Hello fellow retro enthusiasts! My name is Rene and I have a blog over at
Lace & Thimble where I share my love for sewing, embroidery, and a little bit of baking. I also have a shop at
Etsy where I sell original hand- stitched greeting cards. I have loved vintage fashions since an early age, often spending my time studying old photographs and searching through thrift stores to find
that one special piece. As a young girl, my mom used to sew me dresses for special occasions and it has always seemed so special to own something specifically handmade for yourself. I have been sewing for myself since a teenager, but it is only within the past few years that I discovered sewing blogs and became really excited about the whole process. I can get really geeky about it- I think that it's such a fascinating art, taking something 2D and making it 3D. A piece of sculpture, really. . I have often mused over what other home seamstresses are able to do and it's such an honor to be able to share this space!
