Joining in on the plaid theme over at Sew Weekly, I decided to make the plaid suit I've been planning on doing for a while now. I bought the fabric a few weeks back in my local thrift store for 60SEK (about 10$), and I had the perfect pattern in one of my pattern books!
I used the German book Mode Klassiker, and chose a classic Chanel style jacket pattern and a simple skirt. I know about three words in German, so that was a bit hard, but the construction pictures were clear! The book is from 1992, but it only features very classic and simple pieces!
Copying the pattern was all but fun, look at this pattern paper! It's double sided, each side having 22 patterns in three different sizes on it. The pink lines are the ones I was going to copy (and they are in color only because I colored them, all lines were in black from the beginning...)
The construction went along fairly fine, despite me never having made anything so complicated before, and the tweed being very soft and getting out of shape easily. (And it turns out I hate hand sewing in lining...)
And here's the result! I used every little scrap of the fabrics.
As usual, there are a lot of more pictures and story on my blog, sewewellyn!
