A Compendium of Lingerie Patterns...

Hello all,
Over at my blog A Few Threads Loose I'm gearing up for a lingerie sew-along. We're looking at mostly vintage patterns, and the voting for which pattern we'll use has started. Anyone is welcome to join, of course. We'll be starting out by making our pattern in comfy, soft, and affordable flannel for the fall, and then those who are interested can give it a try with nicer, harder to sew fabrics.

While I was putting the post together, I ended up finding some really great lingerie patterns, both vintage and new, as well as some great pattern finding resources. It sort of ended up as a nice thorough compendium of current and vintage lingerie patterns made available in pdf/ e-pattern, reproduction, and printed forms. It could be a helpful resource if you're looking for a great bra, tap panties, slip or teddy pattern. Check it out!

Simplicity 6861 from 1966: Sea Green Crepe Dress

I completed Simplicity 6861 from 1966 in a sea green polyester crepe. I made view 1 but ended up leaving off the sleeves. You can read more about my adventures, or rather misadventures, on my blog Sew Sixties.

wee 1960's Mini

Before

After

Before and after shots of a mini skirt made from Charles Parson Print fabric I used a 1960's miniskirt pattern and altered it slightly to fit my waist hip ratio. This fabric is pretty mental but i tried to use it in a way I could pair it with block colours to tone in down a couple of shades. This fabric was really nice to work with...good quality soft cotton twill.

Not much sewing for me lately, but i'm still loving the vintage outfits I'm seeing posted on SewRetro.

Cheers and happy creating,
Allison

Yes I can sew! Butterick 3286

I've just completed my very first sewing project since finishing my Fashion Design and Technology year-long course last week! A simple pop over top.
I would have struggled with this previously.

I am so excited I blogged about it here

I'm a happy girl.

Simplicity 8456 from 1969- Simple Purple Dress

I made Simplicity 8456 from 1969. It ended up being a simple purple dress, and not as detailed as the pattern envelope. However, I likey.
