PPP #2 vintage flower seeersucker
Here is #2 of 3 in the sew-along.
This one is made from a vintage flower seersucker I got in a vintage store a few months ago. I knew I would not have enough material for the whole dress, and I remembered I had this *great* solid seersucker leftover from a project long ago. What I didn't anticipate was the lack of enough of each for the back. But, through some fancy and clever piecing (staying on the grain, w00t) I was able to make a rather nice design of it.
This one was a breeze to put together. I would actually say this one is more like the original design than my first one. I did some fitting adjustments: I brought in the bodice gather at the underarm about an inch and lowered the front of the raglan sleeve at the gather about an inch. Helped with fit monumentally.

Sewing my own long line bra.
Hi everyone!
I've been working on a first for me. I have this 1940s repro pattern of a long line bra, and I'm finally getting around to making it.
First I made the bra exactly from the pattern just to see how it went together.
Next, I took one of my old bras, whose cup size I was pleased with, and applied that to the bra.
The next version I made was sort of a wearable mock up, where I completely finished it with flat felled seams, elastic beneath the arms, and a hook and eye front.
After some final tweaks (I hope) I'm on the fourth version and I plan on finishing this one in a day or so. From there, we will see.

My scanner broke :( so whatever is leftover on my hard drive is what I have for catalog Sunday. I hate not having a theme, but catalog sunday must go on!
The Plain Pattern Project
Hello all of Sew Retro.
Following the heels of my Make and Mend sew-along, I was looking through my pattern stash dying to start a new project. I flipped through a number of my 'ordinary' patterns and realized I skipped far too many of them. Then I thought, I know a lot of others do the same thing. An 'I'll get to it later' mentality. Then it came to me!
The sew-along has been going for a few weeks,
and I've completed the mockup of my plain pattern.
In accordance with the sew-along guidelines, I think this one will be the one that i s closest to the pattern. I also want to make a two piece dress from this as one of the altered versions. We will see how that goes. Here are some patterns that I think fall into the category of 'plain'.
