Mod Arrow Dress Project: Simplicity 8682 from 1969- NAVY BLUE

So, after having the various snafus with the green, mod arrow dress, I decided to go forth with a navy blue arrow dress. I had learned some important lessons with the green dress.

This dress went much more smoothly! You can read more and see more pictures at my blog Sew Sixties.

Mod Mini Skirt Project: Green & White Arrow Pop Art Skirt (APPLIQUE)

Well, I did another arrow applique skirt; this time a green corduroy skirt with white felt applique. I messed with the proportions and decided to do a smaller arrow applique and a simpler design. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone more complicated?

You can read more about this project and see more pictures on my blog Sew Sixties.

Mod Mini Skirt Project: Black & White Arrow Pop Art Skirt (APPLIQUE)

I wanted to try my hand at applique so that I could make a mod skirt with a pop art effect. I'm fairly pleased with the resulting "arrow skirt." You can read more about my inspiration and process at my blog Sew Sixties.

Mod Mini Skirt Project: Campbell's Soup Skirt-- An Andy Warhol Tribute Piece!

This mod mini-skirt, which I made using a vintage pattern from the era, is my tribute to Andy Warhol's famous "Campbell's soup" artworks. I made this as an homage to the pop art movement and the popular paper dress movement of the 60's. For further explanation, please visit my blog Sew Sixties.

Mod Mini Skirt Project: Personal Ads Fabric

Another mini skirt project inspired by the pop art movement. This time I took inspiration specifically from a 1960's paper dress that featured a "yellow pages" design.

I think personal ads fabric on a skirt is very pop art. You can read more about my thoughts and the project on my blog Sew Sixties.

Mod Mini Skirt Project: Blah Fabric

I'm inspired by the bold words and graphics of the pop art movement. I am attempting to incorporate my love of this aesthetic into my sewing projects. It makes sense since mod clothing is the fashion equivalent of pop art.
