My boyfriend and I had a prohibition era (1920-1933) themed party this past weekend and I wanted to share some pictures from the event and our outfits with you.
I made my skirt and blouse from an original early 1930s dress pattern that I adapted for separates, and I made Brian's pants and vest. The pants are from the Evadress 1934 Men's trousers pattern and the vest is from an original 1950s pattern that I have (I think it's a 1952). Brian made his shirt from the 1920s Men's shirt pattern. I also made my necklaces and had a perfect opportunity to sport my new Remix 1930s pumps.
There are lots more pictures of the hair, makeup, and the party itself on my blog.
Hope you're all having a good week!

Retro style beignet skirt
Hi there, this skirt isn't made from a vintage patten but I thought I'd share it with you here because it's definitely retro inspired.
It's the Beignet skirt from Collette Patterns and I couldn't be more please with the results. I used a navy cotton drill for the main skirt with red polka dot facing and pockets and red buttons.
More pics and details are on my blog. x

I was in need of a new skirt.
I was in desperate need of a new skirt, I used Simplicity pattern 7624, spied myself some vibrant red fabric and super large blue buttons, I also made a few adjustments to make the skirt a tad more interesting. You can read more on my blog if you like.

Happy Sewing.
