Advance 3477 in Black & White Checks

Another sewing project completed - Advance 3477 from 1964! The fabric came from a big 80's dirndl-style skirt that had a large bow attached. I bought the skirt a couple of years ago, and although I found that it was too small, I really liked the fabric and decided to buy it anyway.
Good thing I did, as I once I unpicked it, I realised that there was more than enough fabric to make this dress! I made the bow into a detachable piece, so that if I want I can wear a belt and swap around different accessories. The fabric is really light but opaque, this dress is going to get a lot of wear this summer :)
