How Often Does This Happen?

I recently made this dress

from this pattern.

And then, in London near Brick Lane, I spotted this in a vintage shop.

How often do you see a real, hand made vintage dress from a lovely vintage pattern that you just recreated and wore 60 years later?

Introducing The "Being So Glamorous Is Such A Burden" Dress

Hello Everyone!

I have just completed The "Being So Glamorous Is Such A Burden" Dress, based on Vogue Couturier 100, by Ronald Paterson, from 1957.

I released the pleats at the top of the dress and had to resize the whole thing down.

The silk is dupioni and it has purple iridescence, which is difficult to see in photos.

Thanks for looking and stop by my blog, Modern Twist, to check out more about this dress and my other retro projects!

Cheers,
Jacki
