Christmas Shirt

This is not the first time I've used this pattern, it a 1985 pattern but I have seen many older copies. I have done view C and used a red and green fabric in the same pattern for contrasting. I'm still undecided on adding a pocket tho.

 I like making this shirt as it's so easy and fast to do, if you've ever wanted to make a shirt for that little person in your life I would highly recommend this one, I think you can still buy it new.

18th Century Christmas

We went to an 18th century Christmas party at our friends' house last night and I thought I'd share my outfit with you all. I made the gown from a scaled down original in Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 1, the petticoats I whipped up several years ago. The gown is done almost entirely by hand, since the construction makes using a machine extremely difficult. You can read more about the party at my blog.

Ten Cent Christmas Dress

I sewed up a Christmas dress for my 8 month old daughter using vintage Simplicity 9128. It came out so pretty, and I am really excited to get photos of her in front of our tree for this year's Christmas card. All of the trimmings were vintage goodies from my late Grandma's stash, and the fabric was from a bag of scraps given to me by a neighbor. All I paid for was the pattern, and that was ten cents! Well, a little bit of work goes a long way sometimes:
