Hello Dolly

Hi I am a keen maker of all sorts of things, and apart from having a bit of a thing for making dinosaurs, I love all things vintage. I blog about all this and about life in general, check it out. I have been getting into making vintage clothes lately, sewn and knitted, so I thought that I would join Sew Retro for inspiration and advice!

My most recent project has been a yoke top made from a vintage dress pattern, which I originally thought was from the 1950s but now think is more 1960s. I have worn it loads actually, and am planning to either make a long version or swap it for a similar smaller pattern as this is a bit big (size 14). Anyone interested?

A virtual vintage pattern trading post!

Yeehaw! I just discovered that there's a vintage pattern swapping group over on Flickr! It appears to be pretty inactive at the moment, but I say it's high time to start loading our patterns and get trading away, pardners. Got fabric in your stash that you know you won't use? There's a fabric swapping group over there as well. I've started putting stuff up on both -- if any of you want to join me, come on over!

I Really Need A Knitter

I hope everyone's OK with me posting this here. I know that everyone on here is multi-talented and I'm in need of a knitter (or should that be kneed of a knitter? har har).

I have been searching for lovely short sleeved knitted cardigans and shrugs for ages now with absolutely no luck. Down, but not defeated, I took a break and started to read my favourite blogs. It's thanks to Green Apples that I found the lovely knits of Kim Hargreaves. *swoon* This is one of the items I'm looking for:

If you're a knitter and are interested in working with me, please see my blog for more information.

Thanks a bunch!

Sarah :)

Pattern Trade?

Hi, I'm trying to eventually host a pattern trade/swap on my blog. I've never done this before and was hoping for some tips from someone who has done this before. What type of format, how to post so many pictures at once? how long to let it last? As you can see, lots of questions.
